Legal Fight Update

Legal Fight Update

Stop AusNet’s Towers’ legal fight continues to positively progress. In recent months our legal working group in conjunction with our legal advisers has engaged a number of specialized services to provide expert advice to support the legal fight. This work forms the building blocks of our legal challenge to the very foundations of the Western Victoria Transmission Network Project.

Our chances of success are supported by meticulous preparation and attention to detail.  These matters are complex and must be prepared in confidence.  As and when we are able to disclose further detail to the community, we will do so, thank you for your understanding.

We thank the many community members and businesses that have shown support for our legal fight via your donations.  Your ongoing financial support remains vital to achieving our goals.  Please feel free to contact the committee of Stop AusNet’s Towers if you’d like to know more or get involved.

Community Letter Writing Campaign
New Letter – MENTAL HEALTH & COMMUNITY WELLBEING
One way we can all take action! Let’s make sure we all have our say.

It’s very important that the decision-makers hear from everyone about this awful project.

Letter writing does make a difference. Tens of thousands of people are very unhappy about the project and every individual voice of concern deserves to be heard.

Please just take a few minutes to access the community letter here – insert your name and e-mail address and press send or download the letters and send from your own e-mail.

This only takes a few minutes of your time, but it is so important. If you want to add further text, then you can certainly do that also.

The more letters we send expressing our concerns, the more we cannot be ignored and the more influence we can have!

Energy regulator determines TransGrid didn’t consider all credible routes for HumeLink project

The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has determined TransGrid failed to consider all credible options for its HumeLink project, in what is considered a big victory for landowners opposed to powerlines running through private land as per original plans.
This development is significant because failure to consider all credible options is a breach of the requirements of the ‘regulatory investment test for transmission’ (RIT-T), which specified that all reasonable options had to be considered in TransGrid’s Project Assessment Conclusions Report (PACR).
