PRESS RELEASE – NEW WEBSITE LAUNCH ANNOUNCEMENT

Moorabool and Central Highlands Power Alliance launches updated website.

After many months of hard work and dedication from the team at the Moorabool and Central Highlands Power Alliance (MCHPA), we are pleased to announce the launch of our new and improved campaign website!

Our primary goal during the redesign process was to create a more valuable, user-centric and responsive resource across all platforms and devices. Specifically, we wanted to focus on making it easier for the community to learn and locate valuable information about the Stop AusNet’s Towers Campaign.

We have reorganised information to highlight the irreversible impact on local communities by detailing specific environmental effects including but not limited to biodiversity and habitat, cultural heritage, landscape and visual, land use, socioeconomic, community amenity, health and safety, roads and transport, catchment values and hydrology.

We seek to minimize the impact of the Western Victoria Transmission Network Project (WVTNP) on property owners by influencing a direction to the WVTNP team to investigate alternative options such as undergrounding. Noting that the MCHPA believes the most suitable solution to the proposed transmission lines is an undergrounded solution entirely in the MCHPA geographical area from West of Ballarat to Sydenham.

The new Stop AusNet’s Towers website provides information on the Area of interest (AoI) as well as Ausnet’s next steps in determining the final route. AusNet Services has now narrowed down the Area of Interest (AoI) to corridors. These corridors will be considered, along with the output of further community consultation, to identify to a single corridor and refine a final route.

We have made it easier for the community to get involved through letter writing, online petitions, volunteering, donations and community engagement. A lot of people think they should sit back and wait for others to do something.  The project is forging ahead and the ONLY time to have a say and provide the best outcome for everyone, is NOW.

Keep up to date on our latest campaign news and updates, in our news section and find responses to some of the most frequently asked questions.

We hope you enjoy our new look!

We are a united community group against the construction parameters of the Western Victoria Transmission Network Project. We need everyone to join the fight.
